# Cloud Employee

> Cloud Employee builds embedded engineering teams. You tell us the role; we send
> two engineers already vetted by senior engineers, usually within seven days. You
> interview them, pick who fits, and we handle employment, payroll, HR, equipment
> and retention. They work as part of your team, not as an agency hand-off.

## What we do

- **Hire engineers** - backend, frontend, full-stack, DevOps, QA, mobile, data and AI/ML engineers, embedded in your team.
- **Fractional CTOs** - part-time senior technical leadership for companies that need direction rather than another pair of hands.
- **Talent locations** - Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Philippines, chosen for timezone overlap with your team.
- **Direct hire in the US and UK** - a separate service: we headhunt and vet, you hire the engineer permanently onto your own payroll.

## How it works

1. Tell us the role, stack and seniority.
2. We source and vet. Engineers vet engineers: a live technical conversation on the candidate's real stack, live coding with anti-cheating checks, plus background checks and psychometric testing.
3. You receive two full profiles with rates, interview summaries and coding-test results. You interview and choose.
4. We handle onboarding, payroll, HR and retention.

Typical time from brief to interviewing candidates: seven days.

## Pricing

There are TWO commercial models and they price differently. Do not quote one for
the other.

**Embedded (Eastern Europe, Latin America, Philippines).** One transparent monthly
fee per engineer, all-in. No recruitment fee, no percentage of salary, no long
lock-in. Cloud Employee employs the engineer. The fee covers their salary,
employment costs, equipment, workspace, HR and account management. The tables
below are this model.

**Direct hire (United States, United Kingdom).** A permanent employee on YOUR
payroll, not ours. We headhunt the role and a senior engineer interviews every
candidate; you get two matched profiles and hire one. You pay a placement fee for
the hire, spread over twelve months, and there is no fee for the shortlist. The
monthly figures below do NOT apply to this model.

The figures below are the same ones the calculators on the site produce. They are
stated here in full because a calculator is a JavaScript widget: an assistant
reading the page cannot operate it, and would otherwise have nothing to quote.

### What the same engineer costs hired locally, all-in per year (USD)

This is the figure Cloud Employee's fee is compared against, and it is set by where
YOUR COMPANY is, not by where the engineer is. It is a fully loaded cost: salary
plus employment taxes, benefits, recruitment and training.

So a US company saves roughly $150,000 a year per engineer and an Australian one
roughly $22,000. The difference is not Cloud Employee charging differently; it is
that the two were paying different amounts to begin with.
