When interviewing a new client, we’ll say:
“John, in 30 days, what will it take for you to turn around and say this developer is at least a 9 out of 10? Give us tangible measures.”

You want to remove ambiguity. I’d advise anyone to take the time to define: “This is how I like to work. This is my communication style. If I reach out, I expect a response within X hours.”

Some leaders are very autonomous and laid-back. Others are more structured and expect updates quickly. It depends on the business.
