If you want a full-time employee in another location, and you want them long term, you have to invest in them. It usually takes three to six months.
They also need clarity on purpose. Especially with Gen Z and millennials, purpose is as important as pay. People want to be part of something bigger — that’s what motivates them.
If you get people bought into your mission and values, you’ll have a much better outcome. But if you just drop someone in another country and say, “Go do the work,” it rarely works.
You can’t rely on them picking things up by osmosis when they’re not in the same room. You need to prepare and communicate purpose intentionally.
