In the countries we operate, we’ve built full-time employee experience teams, events management teams, and L&D teams. Everyone gets $1,000 a year to spend on mentors, certifications, conferences — all of which contribute to retention and happiness.
Honestly, I used to think “employee experience” was a bit of a jargony buzzword. But I’ve seen the impact. With loneliness and isolation being such issues globally, people want to feel part of something. If they build friendships at work, they don’t want to leave.
That’s why we put on events. We’ve done trips in Boracay resorts, award ceremonies, parties, sports. Developers working for different clients still get access to a community of hundreds of peers. They can hang out, talk shop, and feel connected.
